Small pub or bar audio system setup

Sometimes, you do not need the best sound-system in a small bar. You do not need huge speakers, big amplifiers and fancy lights. The system must be flexible enough to handle a full crowd and if the crowd feels like dancing, so be it…bring out the DJ equipment…like in the picture above. I was fortunate enough to learn many a thing from small bars here. Very unpretentious sound setups…a couple of Marantz amplifiers, some JBL and Yamaha speakers, an Apple iPod to play music during happy hours and normal week days…and you are spun. This setup can even be used for restaurants!

The picture above was taken in a bar in Singapore. I like their setup as it is a very simple and relatively inexpensive. You do not have to spend loads on a big sound system. You simply need to have a system that works. And from what I can see and from what I experienced while I was t that bar, it works…and very well indeed.
