Avast Antivirus Free

I have been using Avast Antivirus for many a year…I would think almost 6 years. It was a wonderful update to the previous one I was using, which was AVG. The problem with Avast is that they are starting to lose ground and are very different from the company they were when they first started out. I switched from AVG for that very same fact….the program was getting bloated and was not working the way I wanted it to work. A case in point. My Brother ControlCentre 4 was always being de-activated by Avast because Avast kept flagging the main executable file as a trojan, which it was not. Despite me tagging it as a false-positive, Avast kept removing it and as a result, I could not use the my Brother printer scanning capabilities. So Avast Antivirus had to go. I am now using Microsoft Security Essentials but a part of me still loves the Avast Antivirus of old. Maybe this blog post of mine will send a message to Avast that they seriously need to look at their program and re-invent themselves.
