Accidentally on purpose?

Check out this driver of the Honda Civic, licence plate number SJY2910K. Disgraceful. This video is going viral on the Internet. The driver of that Honda Civic probably did not know about the camera recording him and his act. Get a car camera guys! It can save you from pickles like this.

********** EDITOR’S NOTE **********

Looks like the owner of this video decided to take it off the YouTube channel for reasons known only to him. If I can find another one circling somewhere, I will put it up.

I managed to find the video again. Some person uploaded it to YouTube. So here it is again in all its glory…err…gory.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 camera

I bought this camera in September 2008. The reason why I bought it is because my old Sony camera, which had been with me since 2002, was showing signs of remorse and since it only had a 16Mb Memory Stick, I was running out of space…and fast! So I bought this camera on the recommendation of a friend who told me that Panasonic Lumix cameras were pretty good. He should know…he is a photographer after all! Here is a tip…when you buy a camera like this, make sure that it is Made In Japan. I cannot stress this enough. They will last a long time and it is also if you treat them with care. All my cameras have received nothing but the best care from me so maybe that is why so many of them lasted this long.

What this camera has is:

  • 10.1-megapixel CCD sensor
  • 4x optical 30-120mm f/3.3-5.8
  • Leica DC Vario-Elmar zoom lenses
  • Sensitivity of up to ISO 1,600 at full resolution.
  • 64mm (2.5-inch) LCD screen.

I have been very happy with the pictures that this camera has been taking but I must admit that low-light conditions do not help much when it comes to taking quality photos. But all in all, a great camera and since I bought it from a vendor during the IT show, it came up relatively inexpensive. It is 5 yeras old this year…it still has a lot more life in it yet!

The Samsung Galaxy Camera

06/01/2013 1 comment

A friend of mine bought this fairly recently. What got me about this camera was not so much the big screen at the back of the camera (it is huge) that showed taken pictures with great clarity but the fact that it was running on the Android Operating System. It is basically camera with a Samsung Galaxy phone (well, almost) built into it! Absolutely fantastic and it does not cost half the earth either…no. This phone cost about $600 dollars. Crazy if you ask me but I think worth it! The specifications of the camera, listed on the website, are pretty great too. Fantastic phone but until mine croaks, I will just admire this phone from afar.

Smartphones with cameras are now allowed in SAF camps…but…

I had to do a double-take when I saw this. Look fellas, you either allow phones or you do not allow phones with cameras. 4.3 inches. Pfft. That is the size of an Apple iPhone. What if you have a Samsung Galaxy Note? It is much bigger than the Apple iPhone but it is more popular and many people have them. So you are telling me that you are going to disallow those phones just because they have a bigger screen? What kid of logic is that? Both have cameras, both can take pictures. So what is wrong with that? Do you allow camera-equipped smartphones or do you not?

Honestly, sometimes, some laws passed in this country of ours even defies logic…
