Wharfedale Titan Sub A12

Sometimes when we do shows or dance parties, we need a subwoofer to give the music that extra “oomph”. In that scenario, a pair of small satellite speakers with maybe 10″ woofers should suffice for the top end, sending all the low frequencies to the subwoofer, or sub as it is more commonly known as. I have always shown preferences to active subs and this one by Wharfedale caught my attention because it is able to do the job at a very affordable price.

According to Wharfedale’s website, this 12″ active sub has a 250 watt Class D amplifier built-in. with XLR connections. Also included are 1/4″ connections and summed RCA connectors. There is also a crossover frequency filter where you can adjust the frequency. Besides that all, there is a compressor/limiter so you do not overdrive it, as well as a high-pass filter rated at 150Hz.You can even change the phase as there is a switch for it!

Weight-wise, it is not too heavy at 26 kilograms and it is going for less that $600. That is pretty good for a 12″ subwoofer, and an active one at that! Worth taking a look too!
