Acer Aspire One AO756 notebook

Yet another notebook I came across in Comex 2012 a couple of days back is this one, for the low price of $499. It is the Acer Aspire One AO756. Pretty interesting notebook. Measuring 11.6″, it is more like a netbook but instead of an Atom processor, this comes with an Intel Celeron 877 Processor. Not too bad considering and pretty good in specs. It comes with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium and with 2Gb of RAM and a 500Gb hard drive. I figure that this would have been a great choice but I want to see if it is available at the next IT show in December. It is relatively small and unobtrusive and I think that it would be ideal for the job when I DJ. Specs-wise, from the Acer websiite:

  • Windows® 7 Home Premium – 64-bit version
  • Intel® Celeron® Processor 877 (1.4GHz, 2MB L3 cache)
  • 4GB DDR3 SDRAM
  • 500GB hard drive
  • 11.6″ HD Widescreen CineCrystal™ LCD display (1366 x 768)
  • Intel® HD Graphics – Mobile Intel® HM70 Express chipset
  • webcam
  • high-definition audio support
  • built-in stereo speakers
  • multi-gesture touchpad
  • 802.11b/g/n
  • 10/100 LAN
  • HDMI®
  • USB – 2-in-1 card reader
  • 4-cell battery
  • full-size Acer FineTip keyboard
  • 2-year limited warranty

Pretty good stuff at a pretty good price. I wonder if Virtual DJ will have problems with this notebook when hooked up too it? OK. I have the radar trained on this. Let’s see if it comes out again at the next IT show!
