Dirty amplifiers

Amplifiers can fail this way. Just look at these…they are caked with dust. Amplifiers need a free-flow of air to cool the innards. An air inlet port caked with dust like this is not going to bode well for any amplifier. It will lead to thermal shutdowns. I have spent many a day in my career cleaning amps and their inlet ports like these. If you think that looks scary, try opening one of these amplifiers up. The dust in there will really scare you!

Always make sure that your sound equipment is kept clean. Sound equipment is the lifeblood of your industry, if you are in this audio industry. Take care of your products and your products, in turn, will take care of you.
