Wigan 0, Manchester United 4

And that is how the game ended up…a sweet New Year present for me. The match was pretty good, with a good defence by Manchester United. The first goal was scored by Javier Hernandez and then followed by Robin Van Persie, who was assisted by Hernandez. The half-time whistle blew, with the score at Wigan 0, Manchester United 2. I was waiting with bated breath for the start of the second-half. Would Wigan score?

Then the second-half began. On the 63rd minute, Javier Hernandez scored! Woohoo! I told myself…this is looking better and better. But Manchester United are not a team to rest on their laurels. Robin Van Persie. I do not know how he does it but he did it again. In the 88th minute (why does he have to time it so damn close?) Robin Van Persie scored again! Final score? Wigan 0, Manchester United 4! And check this out:

The look on Roberto Martinez’s face…classic! Like a man who is waiting that some miracle will happen and rescue his team from oblivion. Sorry mate. A win is a win. And that is precisely what it stood as, as the whistle blew for full-time. Wigan 0, Manchester United 4. Glory Glory Manchester United!
