Don Henley – The Heart Of The Matter

This album above, The End Of The Innocence, has one of my favourite songs in it….a song with lyrics so meaningful that you will have no choice but to sit up and listen to it. It is also, incidentally, the name of this blog. It just grabs your heart-strings and rivets you. That song is The Heart Of The Matter. In the Eagles’ Hell Freezes Over concert, Don Henley states that he wrote this song with Mike Campbell and J.D. Souther and claimed it took forty years to write and five minutes to sing. I would put a video of this song here but for some reason, the song is always deleted from YouTube because of some copyright reason or whatever.

What I am against is some radio stations who play the severely edited version, which does no justice to the song at all. They should junk that version and play this full version instead. This song deserves to be played in its entirety. This is the video of the song below. I hope this stays there!
