Difference Between a Null Modem and Straight Through Serial Cable

Just yesterday, my colleague was trying to fix an AMX processor and could not communicate with it. Then another colleague suggested that we use a cross serial cable aka a null-modem cable. So I went to this site and managed to copy the diagram from there, to illustrate the differences between a straight and cross serial cable. Hmm…a null modem cable. It has been some time since I have used that term…a night on 20 years when I actually used a modem to communicate. In any case, it was a new learning experience for me,  and for my colleague as well.
