Cruising at the Mekong Delta

We went on a cruise on the Mekong Delta, a place called the Cái Bè District, which is a town in southern Vietnam. We saw many things there like boat markets, with actual wares hanging from tall poles on their boat so that people from afar can see what they are selling. I was wondering why I saw a couple of turnips suspended high on a pole in one of the boats! We also took a sampan ride up one of the tributaries and you can see that is the boatman in the boat ahead of us, giving us a ride by hitching it up to his boat which had an outboard motor.

We had a full day, with about three other couples joining us. We saw how coconut sweets were made, saw how the locals re-used waste material like rice-husks to fuel fire. We even went on a short bike ride around one of the towns there. A lovely day and by the time we got back, we were tired. No trip to Vietnam is complete without this tour so go check it out!
