First of all, I would like to give props to CravingTech for this photo. I used to have a Nokia 3310. It was given to me as a present in 2002. I lost it circa 2007. I still miss that phone because as far as I am concerned, it had the longest battery life and it just, well, worked. But looks like it’s here again! According to Craving Tech:
It’s 2017 and Nokia has a surprise for all of us. It’s Nokia 3310 re-modernised, re-designed, re-launched.
The new Nokia 3310 (2017) borrows the success from the original Nokia 3310 and comes with a month of battery life!
Its design may not be as rugged as the original 3310, but it has definitely come with a new, fresh, redesign with a few colourful choices: Red, Yellow, Gray, and Dark Blue.
It has a 2.4″ screen (with colours), micro USB charging port, 2MP camera with LED flash, headphone jack, FM radio and MP3 player, 16MB Internal Storage (with a MicroSD card supporting up to 32GB), and.. a Snake game for the nostalgia!
Sadly, it doesn’t run on Android and most importantly, it only runs on 2G (what?). Running on 2G is a deal breaker to most as many telecommunication networks around the globe (such as here in Australia) have turn their 2G off for good.
Yes…it is bad news indeed because Singapore will stop access to 2G services from April 2017 onwards so it looks like that this may be a pipe dream for many. It will be pretty pointless buying this phone if the networks in your country don’t support it right? Oh well…
The Internet was alive this morning with Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool endorsing Nescafe 3-in-1 coffee. I wonder. Is that his beverage of choice? Or was it because of the fact that Liverpool lost 3 – 1 to Leicester City? Could be…could be not.
It is a sad day indeed for the world of show-business. Actor Bill Paxton, who was best known for his role in the sci-fi classic Aliens, died at the age of 61. Apparently, Paxton had reportedly suffered from complications following surgery. His biggest hits included The Terminator, Apollo 13, True Lies, Titanic, and 1996’s Twister – in which he starred opposite Helen Hunt. The pic above is a pic from the movie Tombstone, where he plays one of the Earp brothers. Rest in peace Bill. We will miss you
We did it! Manchester United have won the EFL Cup! It was a brilliant game. Southampton were outstanding throughout and I must admit, were much the better team, but the irresistible force of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s personality decided the match. He started the scoring, and then Southampton equalised, so he finished the scoring as well. The final goal was struck in the 86th minute of play, giving us 3 – 2. Glory Glory Manchester United!
We have all had that time when we have tried to connect our PC, especially a laptop, to a projector located quite far away. Or, we have a projector on the ceiling and the VGA cable is too long. When that happens, the picture that is finally being presented may not be the best of quality. So what do you use? You use this Extron P/2 DA1, aka The Peaker. What it is is actually a booster of sort, powered by the USB port on your laptop. It is relatively small so it fits nicely in your pocket. You connect one end to your laptop’s VGA socket and the other side to the VGA cable linking to the projector or display. This will help to transmit a beautiful picture. So get one now. You can pick them up pretty inexpensive on Ebay and the like. I have one and it works a treat!
It was all over the news yesterday morning. Claudio Ranieri was sacked as manager of Leceister City. Ranieri was informed of the decision of his sacking on his return from the club’s Champions League last-16 tie against Sevilla. So this is how it is nowadays. As Jose Mourinho said in an Instagram post, verbatim:
CHAMPION OF ENGLAND and FIFA MANAGER of THE YEAR.sacked.
Thats the new football claudio.keep smiling AMICO.nobody can delete the history you wrote
Speaks volumes about the Thai owners of Leicester. You fellas should be grateful for what Claudio did. What you did was absolutely deplorable. Thank God I am not a Leicester City fan. I wouldn’t know where to put my face.

I had to do a double take when I saw this Belden Cat5e shielded twisted pair cable. First of all, I never knew it existed. All I knew about as far as shielded twisted-pair cable was of the Cat6 variety. I suppose that this can and should be used with Cat5 UTP plugs. I took a sample back home to test it out and see if it works. If it does, great. I know of some applications that can use cable like this!!
