The haze is back

27/08/2016 Leave a comment

This was a picture taken this morning and it looks like the bloody haze is back. Those bloody plantation owners in Indonesia are the cause for this haze period and given how corrupted the whole damn country is, no amount of talks with these recalcitrant people will end this issue that we face every year. Oh well. Time to break out the face masks again

Looks like the Indonesia haze is back again

29/03/2016 Leave a comment

When I got off the air-conditioned bus this afternoon, I thought the air smelt a bit smoky. So I fired up my air quality index app on my trusty Android phone and this is what greeted me…the air in the unhealthy range. Looks like those land-clearing Indonesian bastards are at it again. here comes the asthma attacks, the poor visibility and out will come the N95 masks. Yep. The Indonesia haze is back again!

The haze reached a level of 462 last night

Two things happened last night. One of them was that I was nearly hit by a car who beat the red light as I was crossing the road. Secondly, the haze, courtesy of Indonesia, reached unprecedented levels of 462 last night. The near-miss I am not so worried about but the choking haze from these slash-and-burn bastards in Indonesia really get my goat. I remember feeling that the smog was thicker than nrmal last night when I went down to buy dinner. I could really smell the choking  and acrid smell of smoke. It was not as pronounced as yesterday. That is when I came home with dinner, looked up the websitte that measure the haze and saw this reading.

In any case, looks like the haze is going to last till the New Year, or so I heard. Thse bastards will mever, ever learn.

Jakarta claimed Singapore would claim credit for helping them combat haze

10/10/2015 Leave a comment

Remember the Michael Bolton song, when it starts, he sings: “I could hardly believe it, when I heard the news today” Well, I can tell you I could scarcely believe the news myself. It’s about the haze that has been blanketing Singapore and most parts of Malaysia and Thailand. I read the article in the Today newspaper, online, and this is what it said:

Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said that Jakarta had earlier rejected Singapore’s offers of assistance to combat the transboundary haze crisis in the region because it was concerned that the city-state would claim credit for solving the problem, even while the officials were worried about the rapidly deteriorating situation.

Now I find that bloody stupid. In the first place, who started the bloody haze by burning their forests? Who did not give a rats ass about the countries around them, or for their own citizens for that matter? And when Singapore offers help to fight the haze, the Indonesian government say this is the reason why they rebuffed Singapore. Bloody idiots. Why on earth would we claim credit for helping you stop something that YOU, Indonesia, started in the first fucking place?

Honestly. This is stupid. Really, really stupid.

The victims of the Indonesian haze

07/10/2015 Leave a comment

I got to see this yesterday on Facebook and I must say that it darn near broke my heart. All in the name of money, and the idiots like Jusuf Kalla and Agung Laksono…bugger everyone else, it is not our interest…by the looks of it. If you all want to know what this sign the little boy is holding, this is the translation

Dear Mr President. If you cannot stop the smoke (from the haze), send money to us so that we can see a doctor #saveriau

In some parts of Indonesia, the haze has reached a PSI rating as high as 2000. But do these buggers doing the slash and burn care? Apparently not.

Look at this kid.

The haze is in the unhealthy range of 300

24/09/2015 1 comment

I gt this online from a popular source that many Singaporeans are flocking to check the daily PSI (Pollutants Standard Index) readings and as of this evening, the PSI index stands at 300. I wonder. These bloody corrupted Indonesian companies burning their forests and land, so they really care? Then we have idiots like the Indonesian vice-president with his stupid remarks. Today is also Hari Raya Haji and the Muslims are suffering. They cannot even pray in their mosques because some of them suffer from asphyxiation issues thanks to this thick haze. Bloody corrupted assholes. Spare a thought for others first before you think of your bloody businesses…can? Bastards.

Jusuf Kalla, you are an idiot. Pure and simple

16/09/2015 2 comments

Two nights ago, my wife was coughing and gasping for air She simply could not breathe, thanks in no small part to Indonesia and their forest burning. Then I look at the idiot of a vice-president of theirs and I wonder to myself sometimes how could someone so dense could take up such a post.

In case you all are wondering, Indonesian farmers do this “slash-and-burn” by setting forests on fire so that they can clear land…cheaply. Many neighbouring countries are affected by this yearly haze, to say nothing of millions of Indonesians living near where these fires take place, suffering from respiratory problems. We complain to Indonesia to do something about it and do you know what this idiot says?

For 11 months, they enjoyed nice air from Indonesia and they never thanked us. They have suffered because of the haze for one month and they get upset. Singapore shouldn’t be like children, in such a tizzy

And it is not only this fella Jusuf Kalla. There was this other idiot two years ago Agung Laksono which said something on similar lines. I wonder…are they reading from a prepared script or what? And my offer to him still stands and this time, he can bring his friend Kalla. I lock the both of you up in a room and I throw in a couple of smoke grenades. Let us see how you both fare then.

Singapore has offered help to fight the fires but Indonesia has told Singapore they do not need any help, saying that they have the resources to combat the haze. This haze is affecting our Malaysian neighbours as well. The PSI ratings are going through the roof, with the air in the unhealthy range all this while. What we need is strong diplomacy to tackle this once and for all.
