Cisco Catalyst 3850 switches

I have been having issues with these switches installed at a client’s place. First of all, those bloody mGIG ports. Cisco has to be different, by putting these ports on the switch. They claim that it is backward-compatible but unfortunately, these ports cause a lot of problems for some the older equipment plugged into them, especially those with half-duplex interfaces.

Another issue is with the fibre interfaces. they seem to be breaking down pretty often. Have you seen the uplink port on this one? No light at all. There have been 4 instances of Cisco switches installed in this place with uplink ports going tits-up. What happened Cisco? What happened to the reliability of yesteryear?

I will not even recommend these Cisco switches to any of my clients. No bloody way.
