Pedra Branca belongs to us

It was a bone of contention between Singapore and Malaysia for years. In 1979, Malaysia makes a map of its maritime territories and includes Pedra Branca (Portuguese for White Rock) in it. Singapore protests. So, it gets brought before the International Court of Justice and after all that, it is now formally recognised that Singapore owns Pedra Branca. I just knew it all along. This tiny island on which Horsburgh Lighthouse was built on in the mid 1800s belongs to us.

Along the Ayer Rajah Expressway

This the view I get when I take the bus to work. The bus covers a bit of the Ayer Rajah Expressway and is a four-lane highway. I just decided to take a snapshot of it. The picture is quite clear and the journey can be uneventful at times.

West Coast Park

Snapped some pictures of West Coast Park near Clementi West. I happened to cycle down there and I took these pics in the deepening twilight with my mobile phone cam, hence the rather grainy pictures. I must say that it is a very enjoyable place to be with the cool seabreeze and the prospect of watching ships sail by. There is something about the sea that draws one to it and it is always peaceful to sit by the seaside, even though there is nary a beach near that area. I will definitely be going back there to check it out again

Concrete silos along Telok Ayer Street

While waiting for the traffic light to change, I took a picture of these concrete silos next to the entrance of Telok Ayer Street. These things are huge and painted red so it sort of caught my attention. These guys are widening the road so I suppose they need all that concrete, hence the silos
