Covid-19 weekly cases top 56,000

covid-19

Yes. Covid-19 has struck again, with weekly cases this month hitting 56,000. The Ministry of Health (MOH) is strongly encouraging the public to wear a mask in crowded places even if they are not sick. I have been wearing a mask daily, even after the MOH stated that it was not compulsory anymore. I just cannot risk getting Covid-19 and it interfering with my work. So this is a reminder…mask on always and always take precautions like avoiding crowded places if possible.

Disposable microphone covers

The Covid-19 scare has not gone away. As a matter of fact, it is coming back stronger than ever with new infections every day. The wave peaked about two weeks ago in Singapore, according to news reports. That is why I still continue to wear my face-mask. The face-mask is a good deterrent against breathing in germs.

While we are using face-masks, I think it is also a good idea to give our microphones face-masks…of sorts! Yes, these disposable mic covers will be good to protect your mic from getting coated with Covid-19 germs. I always sanitise my mic mesh capsule after every show. I have been doing it even before Covid-19 came into fray. These mic covers will give an extra wall of protection.

Stay safe everyone. Always take precautions. The Covid-19 scare is still here and will be here for a long time yet.

A surge in Covid-19 cases

covid-19

We are not out of the woods yet. It seems that there has been a surge in Covid-19 cases in Singapore. Just yesterday, I was sneezing like crazy at night. Now…I almost never have sneezing fits. I only start sneezing if I have some kind of ailment coming. So remember to mask up when you leave the house. Try to reduce the Covid-19 numbers!

Singapore Government gave us more ART kits

I am thankful to the Government on giving us 10 ART kits per household. The Covid-19 pandemic is far from over, with some people still getting hit by it. Some have been hit twice in spite of vaccinations and boosters. Just the other week, one worker at a construction site that I was at was down with Covid-19. We all had to take ART tests because it was mandatory and these ART kits will come in handy. Remember, stay safe out there. We are not out of the woods yet.

Seahorse Mattress

When I was ill with Covid-19 last week, I did not want to sleep in the same room with my wife for fear of infecting her. So what I did was to break out my spare mattress, this foldable Seahorse brand mattress. For one whole week I slept on that mattress in my study floor. Looks like I have to give this mattress the sun treatment to kill all the Covid-19 germs. I love this mattress. It was comfortable without being overly bouncy. I might get another one to keep at my mother’s place, just in case.

I have been struck with Covid-19

covid-19

Yup. I became a victim recently and I am still on the mend. I have isolated myself and have drunk fluids all day long, keeping myself hydrated. I told myself, it is only a matter of time before I get it. The sad thing is, I spread it to my wife and a couple of friends of mine. I in turn got it from my colleague. Thank heavens for the vaccinations that I had or else I would be in worse condition than what I currently am. For all of you out there who have yet to get hit by this terrible disease, it is real. I thought I would be able to ride it out but I did not and could not. Practice safety at all times and always wear your facemask.

No need to use ART kits anymore, for the time being anyway

There was a time when I used to do an ART test on myself every Monday before I went to work. Now, with the new COVID-19 rules, that has since stopped. I also do not have to use that Trace Together app as well. Looks like things are looking up and I can only hope that we, as a vaccinated nation, will learn to live with Covid-19. It has been a very tough couple of years. I do not want to go back to that again

SD Biosensor Covid-19 ART kits

The Covid-19 Omicron variant is still raging in Singapore. Because of this, we have had to test ourselves to make sure that we are Covid-19 free. And we do that by using this Antigen Rapid Test (ART) kit. My office gives me free kits to test myself and there have even been free kits given by the Government of Singapore to test ourselves. I bought a set of 5 test kits that cost me about $25. These were for my wife to test herself. These kits can be bought in most pharmacies like Guardian Pharmacy. Test yourself every week if you can and make sure that you are Covid-19 free. But remember…the best way to protect yourself is to:

  1. Mask-up
  2. Practice social distancing
  3. Wash your hands regularly
  4. Avoid touching your face or eves or nose.

Take care and stay safe always.

Mother-in-law hit by Covid-19 coronavirus

covid-19

My mother-in-law has been hit by the Covid-19 coronavirus. Well, at the rate infections have been climbing, it was only a matter of time. She complained about having a bit of a sore throat and so she went to a clinic where she was diagnosed as having the virus. It is damn lucky she went for her vaccinations including her booster jab. She told me that she is fine with just that mild discomfort. She will isolate herself for 72 hours and see how it goes.

That virus is still out there everyone and is very contagious. Be on your guard. Always remember…social distancing, wear a mask and wash your hands periodically.
