Cleaning a top-load washing machine

For some time now, whenever I wash my clothes, there is some kind of black, rubbery substance on my clothes after washing. I have a feeling that my washing machine has dirty innards, as shown on this video here. It looks so easy to clean that that is what I am going to do this weekend when I have time. I am going to clean this Samsung washing machine of mine in the same way. It looks very easy. I do not have a high-pressure water hose like these two guys have. I guess some elbow grease is required.
