Leicester City -2 Manchester United -2

Manchester United played Leicester tonight and frankly, I was really pissed off with the result. Manchester United led twice but ultimately failed to win an away league match in the league for the first time this season, with an Axel Tuanzebe own goal five minutes from time. Marcus Rashford scored the first goal in the 23rd minute. He could have score a goal in the first two minutes but that header just went over the crossbar. I thought that was good and I thought that a lead over half-time would do great for confidence. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Harvey Barnes equalised for the Leicester about 8 minutes later. And that was how it ended up at half time with a goal a-piece. During half-time, I was thinking to myself what an achievement it would be to win this fixture. I was hoping for more goals scored from united and I was not disappointed. After waiting like forever in the second-half, Bruno Fernandes scored and thus Manchester United was 2-1 up! I was thinking to myself…just hold the fuck on and try to score another one. At least make it 1 – 3. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Jamie Vardy came to the rescue for Leicester by scoring a goal. The shot took a deflection off Axel Tuanzebe and that meant that they equalised due to an own-goal.

There were a few good attempts at goal throughout the match and it can be said that the two teams were rather evenly-matched. We had to settle for a draw which means a point-a-piece. Oh well…what will be will be, as they say. Up and on till the next match!

Manchester United – 2 vs Leicester City – 0

It was a home game at Old Trafford. It has been two pretty solid match-weeks for Manchester United with victories over West Ham United and Swansea City. And we tried and succeeded with that unbeaten streak with Leicester City. Right from the start of the first half, it was in favour of Manchester United with the home-side dominating possession and hitting the final third time and again. We had a goal disallowed very early by Mata. Offside, claimed the linesman. Paul Pogba shot a few  wide ones but not meant to be…some were close though. Saves from Kasper Schmeichel and Leicester’s defensive compactness limited us until er struck very late in the second half through a corner which Marcus Rashford converted. Lingard provided the assist for Fellaini later on and United sealed a comfortable win and put three points in the bag. Goal difference is 10 and 9 points after three games. Top of the table! Glory Glory Manchester United!

Klopp endorsing 3-in-1 coffee

The Internet was alive this morning with Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool endorsing Nescafe 3-in-1 coffee. I wonder. Is that his beverage of choice? Or was it because of the fact that Liverpool lost 3 – 1 to Leicester City? Could be…could be not.

Claudio Ranieri sacked as manager of Leicester City

It was all over the news yesterday morning. Claudio Ranieri was sacked as manager of Leceister City. Ranieri was informed of the decision of his sacking on his return from the club’s Champions League last-16 tie against Sevilla. So this is how it is nowadays. As Jose Mourinho said in an Instagram post, verbatim:

CHAMPION OF ENGLAND and FIFA MANAGER of THE YEAR.sacked.
Thats the new football claudio.keep smiling AMICO.nobody can delete the history you wrote

Speaks volumes about the Thai owners of Leicester. You fellas should be grateful for what Claudio did. What you did was absolutely deplorable. Thank God I am not a Leicester City fan. I wouldn’t know where to put my face.

Manchester United vs Leicester City

It is going to be Manchester United vs Leicester City tonight…a couple of hours anyway, at Old Trafford. Leicester City have a very strong team and they look pretty good this season. Let us see how they go!

********** EDITOR’S Note **********

Well, the final result was Manchester United – 3, Leicester City – 1. The first goal was a beautiful one by Robin Van Persie. The second one was by Radamel Falcao and the third one, an own-goal by Leicester City captain Wes Morgan, who ironically was a Manchester United fan. 3 goals in 15 minutes…apprximately. But Leicester City pulled one back in the second-half, and that is how it stood till the end. A good game, and well-played United. Glory Glory!
