Logitech Group

These past few days, I have been setting up Logitech Group video-conferencing equipment for a client. They have a few offices all over the island and I am installing them. This Logitech Group series is a joy to install and configure. I have to say that the install went very well and worked great right out of the box. I used it with Zoom and also with Skype with no issues. The Group is detected by my laptop running Windows 10 with no issues. The video above shows what the Logitech Group is all about. Remember when I said that installs should always be simple? Well, this is as simple as it can get. Would I buy it? I surely would if I really required it!

Creative HS-390 headphones

I bought a pair of these headphones to use when Skype first came out. I was on Skye talking to friends overseas and needed a good pair of headphones. This is Singapore and Creative is a Singapore company…at least, it had its roots in Singapore so I thought I would get a Creative headphone because all the products I have bought from Creative in the past have been nothing but remarkable. So I bought these and I am very happy with them. They are sturdily built, have clear sound, the microphone does not get in your way and are even portable enough for me to bring to my DJ sessions. I do not think you can get these anymore but if you do find them on the market, get them. They last a long time, have clear sound and that, my friends, is all that matters.

Viber – free phone calls

OK…I will admit that I was a little slow to catch up on this great application for my Android phone. It happened yesterday when I was doing a conference with some people and they said that they wanted to connect with Viber. To be honest, I had heard of the application before but I just was not interested at all. So I decided to try it out and after the conference, I was a changed person. Bloody thing is good! It is like WhatsApp for phone calls, using your 3G connection to do VOIP calls! Try it and you will save lots on phone calls and international phone calls! Damn, I should have installed this application LONG ago!

Microsoft bought Skype for 8.5 billion in cash

Well, it is official now. Microsoft has bought Skype for 8.5 billion dollars in cash. Now that is a lot of money to be paid for such a product. Some people said that Microsoft overpaid. But no matter who says what, Microsoft now owns Skype. Oh, the horror of it all. Does that mean we will have to merge all our usernames and login via Microsoft Live? Will Skype be a web-based app that will run in Hotmail? The future is not so clear but I can see that there will be some changes coming, and that right soon
